Artephile Playdates is a cozy weekly art playdate designed for toddlers and their grown-ups to explore creativity, enjoy plenty of art and play time, make new friends, and build connections in the community.
Over four weekly sessions, little artists will explore simple, age-appropriate process art, painting, textures, colours and sensory-inspired creative activities alongside their parent or caregiver.
At this age, art isn’t about creating the perfect picture. It’s about squishing paint, making marks, discovering textures, experimenting with colours and having fun! Activities are designed so children can explore at their own pace, with their grown-up right beside them.
Each session will include plenty of art time and play time, giving little ones the freedom to create, explore, move around and interact with their new friends.
And it’s not just for the little ones! The series brings the same small group of families together each week, giving toddlers time to become comfortable with familiar faces while parents and caregivers have an opportunity to chat, connect and make new friendships too.

This September, our little artists will welcome the changing season through playful, fall-inspired art and sensory experiences filled with colour, texture and creative exploration.
September Series Details
Dates: Wednesdays — September 9, 16, 23 & 30
Time: 5:30 PM – 6:15/6:30 PM
Ages: 18 months–3 years
Format: 4 weekly parent/caregiver + child sessions
Fee: $50 for the 4-week series
Group Size: Small group
Materials: All art materials included
A parent or caregiver stays and participates with their child throughout the session.
There’s no pressure to create a perfect picture or for little ones to sit still for an entire class. Just come ready to create, play, get a little messy and make new connections!

Parent & Toddler Art in Kanata
Artephile Playdates are held in Kanata North, Ottawa and are designed for parents or caregivers looking for a relaxed toddler art class, parent-and-child creative activity or Mommy & Me / Parent & Me style art experience. Families from Kanata, Stittsville, Ottawa West and nearby communities are welcome.
Is this a traditional toddler art class?
It is intentionally more flexible. Toddlers can move between creating and play instead of being expected to sit for a formal lesson. The focus is process art, sensory-friendly exploration, connection and positive early experiences with art.
Does the parent or caregiver stay?
Yes. A parent or caregiver stays and participates throughout the session, making this a shared creative experience for both grown-up and child.
